민간 원자력 로드맵(Civil Nuclear roadmap)

본 보고서는 영국의 원자력 에너지에 대한 배경과 통계를 제공하고 있습니다.

The world’s first civil nuclear power plant was opened at Calder Hall in Cumbria in 1956.1 Following the opening of Calder Hall, a further 17 civil nuclear plants came online in the UK between the 1950s and 1990s, with the most recent – Sizewell B in Suffolk – opening in 1995. Many older generation nuclear plants have now been decommissioned and the UK’s nuclear electricity generation share has fallen from 25% in the 1990s to around 15% today.2 There are currently 9 operational reactors in the UK at 5 plants, which provide about 6.5GW of capacity. Most of these reactors are due to reach the end of their operating lives and be shut down before 2030 (following some life extensions) as the table below shows.
